.

Arguably the biggest challenge for those responsible for taking care of your funeral
arrangements is that they are forced to make extremely important decisions, including
costly financial choices, within a small time frame of approximately 48 hours after your
death. Of course, nobody should expect to fully alleviate the emotional and financial
challenges, but you can help them tremendously by creating a sound end of life plan.

There are several things to consider when deciding whether to pre-plan your funeral.

What good does pre-planning do? There are many reasons that preplanning is not only
beneficial to you but also to your whole family. The process allows the individual to be confident
that their wishes will be carried out. Most importantly it can alleviate the burden from a spouse or
children of having to make decisions at an emotional time. You may also alleviate the financial
burden by doing a little pre-planning.

Why should I pre-plan for a funeral?
1.
You can communicate your final arrangement wishes to a funeral family because you have
expressed your wishes ahead of time.
2. You can be sure that your final wishes will be carried out just as you want them to be, and not
merely how your survivors might think that you would have wanted.
3. Your family will know ahead of time the funeral home that you wish to handle your arrangements.
4. You will have the chance to meet the funeral director and view the facility where the
arrangements will be handled for yourself.
5. You have the chance to ease the financial burden at the time of death, or even alleviate it
completely for the family.
6. The peace of mind in your later days that your arrangements have been made and that your
wishes will be carried out.
